Read the Draft Official Community Plan
Over the last year, the City of Mission has been undertaking a comprehensive update of its Official Community Plan (OCP) to guide the future growth of our community. This plan has been developed with the input of residents to understand priorities and develop policy recommendations on topics such as land use, housing, neighbourhood growth, community amenities, greenspace protection and employment lands.
This is the final period of public engagement on the OCP!
Here’s what to expect:
- The OCP will be available for public review from March 12 - April 10
- Feedback from this review period will be considered in an updated draft of the OCP
- Council will give first reading of the OCP adoption bylaw on March 17
- A public hearing and vote by Council to adopt the OCP is scheduled for April 22
What is an Official Community Plan?
The OCP is a high-level document that considers many different parts of how our city works, from roads to parks to healthcare to education and beyond. It is an important document that helps make sure decisions are aligned across all the different plans, strategies, and policies the City’s departments have.
How We Got Here
A Phase 1 survey was open throughout May and closed on June 7, 2024. Thank you to everyone who shared their perspectives early in the process. Read the workbook to find out the details of the work done to date.
Participants in Phase 2 engagement were provided a range of opportunities to share their thoughts and feedback with the project team, and the input from this phase of engagement will help inform big moves and policy shifts proposed for inclusion in the updated OCP. Read the full report.
